I cant load i18n

Post by zackng »

Hello there

I am testing out the demo of JSupload. In my directory where the html and js resides, I put the i18n.properties. I want to test if my i18n is 'available' so I tested in my safari and firefox browser: http://myserver.com/directory/i18n as well as http://myserver.com/directory/i18n.properties but it shows page cannot be found.

My upload works well without the i18n yet. I just want to start applying i18n.properties.
In the js file, I typed in document.writeln('<PARAM NAME="resources" VALUE="i18n">'); but when the page load, the java wont load .
Can anyone enlighten me? I am new to this. Thanks a lot!

You get 403 or 404 error when you try http://myserver.com/directory/i18n.properties directly in browser ? If yes then the applet cannot load it either. Are using a IIS web server ? Try to enable ".properties" extension as "text/plain" mime-type in mime-types section of your web server and it should work.

Does it help ?

Hello. Previously its a 404 error. I added the .properties to my mime type and when I browse
myserver.com/directory/i18n.properties , it is able to load. It is unable to load without typing in the .properties extension.

In the Js file, when i type in this:
document.writeln('<PARAM NAME="resources" VALUE="i18n.properties">');
or document.writeln('<PARAM NAME="resources" VALUE="i18n">');

The java applet still cant load. It has a cross on the top left corner. Hope you can help. Thanks.
If you need more information, Im currently running on windows 2003 sp2.

The correct line in JavaScript is:
document.writeln('<PARAM NAME="resources" VALUE="i18n">');

The file name on the server must be: i18n.properties
Where is this file ? In the same folder as HTML/JavaScript or in lib/ folder ? It must be in the same folder as HTML/JavaScript and available directly in browser. If both are OK then it might be a problem with URL to applet and CODEBASE parameter. Could you post your JavaScript here ?

Documentation about i18n.properties is at:
