We've made tests under FireFox 5.0.1/JRE 1.6.0_24/MacOSX10.6.8 and it still fails.
Issue is still open in bugzilla:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=588455
The only solution is to Shift+Cmd on applet to put in outside browser to make it work (see screenshot enclosed)
Firefox 4 for Mac OS, drag&drop problemRe: Firefox 4 for Mac OS, drag&drop problemFirefox 6.0. Still the same problem. Many customers call us and we have to explain workarounds or share documents with DropBox. Seems we have to wait for FF developers to work on it. However they generally make a very good job and hopefully this issue gets soved soon..
Re: Firefox 4 for Mac OS, drag&drop problemSafari 5.1 seems too: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/32 ... 0&tstart=0
And we cannot do anything on our end. The only workaround is to move (D&D) the applet on desktop to make it works. Re: Firefox/Safari/Chrome for Mac OSX, drag&drop problemJust tested with FireFox 7.0.1 and problem is still here. It's a problem with the new Java Plugin2 integration for MacOSX. It affects all applets.
The problem is reported below again: http://www.danklife.com/blog/?p=1580 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=588455#c24 Only some ugly workarounds could be possible, for instance 1 - Move the applet outside the browser 2 - Use Java Web Start deployment instead of Applet (see samples/ folder). It is similar to standalone application (with JFrame instead of JApplet). |
