I'm not sure where to find this information, but in the documentation there is a reference to "PARAM = paramfile", but I cannot find any example of a paramfile? Is it still needed? Where can I find an example - is it the same information you pass a parameters in the HTML file?

Yes, it is needed for HTTP POST multipart upload. paramfile includes the name of upload field like in an HTML form with INPUT FILE. Default is:
<PARAM NAME="paramfile" VALUE="uploadfile">
